Two of the top North American developers are set to merge in a $300 million deal crafted by Elevation partners, a private equity firm headed up by a former EA president.
The deal brings together two extremely successful companies in BioWare and Pandemic. BioWare is responsible for hits such as Baldur’s Gate and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, while Pandemic has developed such hits as Full Spectrum Warrior, Dark Reign and the recently released Star Wars: Battlefront II.
Bioware/Pandemic Studios assures that no jobs will be lost and all of the firm’s studios will remain in operation.
